We have compiled and updated information on 143 officers who fell, or who are attributed to have fallen during WW2, as follows;

  3. 4,           Lieutenant Colonels

  4. 13,         Majors (1 x M.C, 1 x M.V.O.)

  5. 1,           Brevet Major

  6. 21,         Captains (2 x M.C, 1x M.V.O., 1x M.P.)

  7. 94,         Lieutenants (4 x M.C.)

  8. 4,           2nd Lieutenants

  9. 1,           Chaplain

  10. 3,           Officer Cadets

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission records them as being listed on Memorials or resting in Cemeteries, located in the following countries;

  1. 1,           Algeria

  2. 7,           Belgium

  3. 9,           France

  4. 7,           Germany

  5. 1,           India

  6. 1,           Israel

  7. 14,         Italy

  8. 1,           Libya

  9. 1,           Myanmar (Burma)

  10. 7,           Nederland's

  11. 4,           Tunisia

  12. 18,         England

Our information reveals that the youngest Officer to fall was 18, and the oldest was 59 years old, also that the 1st recorded loss was on 19th May 1940, and the last was on the 22nd May 1947.

From the information complied we are able to determine with the aid of "Charts" the disposition of losses for Officers in WW2 by Rank, and Battalion.
